kevinaska's take on relationships
fro a single persons idea on relationships it only meets one criteria... to not be single anymore. other ideas on relationships can be drawn as well from those in a relationship, which is to maintain their relationship together and not be single...
these two conclusions draw up the idea that it is bad to be single. in essence a relationship would be defined that it involves more than one person anyway... so in all talks about relationships being single would definitely be an antagonistic topic. but here i am... being single and going to talk about relationships myself.
a lot of people i know are in relationships between bf's and gf's. as a single guy an attraction to any females that are attached seems immoral to me. but it does happen and the course of action i usually take is to turn that attraction into something less like a good friendship. it stems from an idea that relationships can be built of more than a bf and gf relationship. without making friends with those i'm attracted to, i feel unethical and awkward. but friendships go beyond simple attraction, and the relationship maintains cohesiveness on common interests. For me, usually that common interest is God. other interests include dancing and maybe even school work... but the main one is God.
it's important to note that as in the perspective of a single person... almost everyone one is attached. and where that idea may not be necessarily true, the idea just gets skewed because other singles in plain view for one reason or another drop from radar.
in my specific perspective i do notice single people... but i notice couples a lot more. couples have a specific barrier i know not to cross which is termed as the boyfriend, so i can pursue a friendship with girls that are attached freely with knowing full well my intentions are amiable and i have not intention of crossing any line. but with single girls there is no such clear definition on where i stand. in fact that should make a better case for friendship... but for a single like me a friendship with another single can be misconstrued as an attempt for a relationship.
why is this baD? well on many grounds you will find people attracted to people who don't find thats person attracted. if feelings are misinterpreted an awkward mood my pervade every meeting between these two singles. at least in friendships with those in relationships singles don't find that awkward stigma as much as the involved lady knows she has not one intention to associate herself with the single guy other than friendliness.
to make things more clearly... if i fall for a girl with a bf, i know not to step a boundary and she knows that it's unethical for me to do so.. (pending i don't overstep this boundary our relationship with each other should be easy to comprehend)
if i fall for a single my relationship with her will be hard to maintain simply amiable for friendly gestures are interchangable completely with flirting gestures (the girl percieves me as flirting... and in order to avoid a relationship due to lack of attraction she avoids flirting back and avoids all flirty/friendly gestures)
but what if i wanted to pursue a relationship more than friendship?
that take a whole level of idealogy to explain...
