Surrender is the only thing that is our own

~To reflect on everything we have in the world and realize that on the most basic level one thing that we can truly say that is ours is "choice."  Looking around it's hard to find something else you have that wasn't contributed by someone else, money for your shoes, your education, your entire livelihood... all things you see in your life.  The one thing that should be of most value to us is the one thing that is from ourselves and that is the ability to make our own choices.  With this in mind surrender becomes the greatest gift we can offer up to our Lord when we give up the one thing that is ours to give to who created us... our choice.

If our houses are real communities of love and union, we will overcome hatred. Love begins at home. Everything depends on how we love each other. Do not be afraid to love until it hurts because his is how Jesus loved. Much of the hurt in our homes comes from uncontrolled use of words, said anywhere, in front of other people. Let us open our eyes to the harm we do.

~Love until it hurts... 
     Love is a very flashy emotion... many fall in love with being in love.  They are enveloped with passion and attraction to an extent that they aren't really in love anymore.  True love comes from sacrifice.  The way our parents sacrifice so much for us...  the way Jesus sacrificed everything to save us...  True love is not selfish it is kind.  To be able to profess ones true love for another you must be willing to give up anything for them, love caught up in the idealogies of "how good this makes ME feel" is not love at all.  To truly love you give up your heart and you surrender it no matter what consequences may be...
