Poetry Corner
Here's a little something i tried to start all the way in February:.
I'm posting up a few of my old poems from my high school years...
come to think of it this was a really emo part of my life,
but alas angst begets art doesnt it...
actually i have to give credit to a friend for inspiring me to post these poems up
if she reads this you know who you are:.
so without further ado... a little poem about regrets...
It is hard to let go...
But why hold on?
It is painful to hold on.
It hurts even more to let go...
Regrets and mistakes…
I dwell on fantasies...
I tell myself, "If only, if not only."
It is a futile attempt to hope that things may have been better,
But that is a fantasy world.
Things happen the way they were supposed to happen,
Despite the past.
One cannot change the past.
Dealing with regret is learning and accepting mistakes made.
To fantasize about the "if onlys" only deepens that pain.
It is hard to move on...
Regret is a burden and nothing more.
It never benefits anyone to regret.
If things were meant to happen,
They would have, despite regretful mistakes
What do I regret? Maybe if I could define my regrets I could let go.
I purely regret everything…To truly let go one must regret nothing
Regret is based on fear and the unknown.
No one really knows what could have happened had we made the other choice.
We dwell too much on an outcome that we longed for.
We always fantasize that it would have been a positive occurrence had things gone the other way
It still belongs to the unknown...
It could have been worse to traverse down the path not chosen...
A necessity to cure regrets is self-confidence...
You have to believe in yourself.
You have to believe that what happened could not be changed,
And that is the best outcome you could have experienced…
Despite the unknown.
It hurts at first...it always does.
But time heals all wounds.
Self-confidence builds and regrets fade...
As long as you believe in something,
And as long as you believe in yourself.
