i am ready to admit, i am nineteen years old.
as the years progress the significance of this kind of number really deteriorates;
pretty soon i'll be 20,
then i'll be 30,
50...
at heart, i know birthdays should be celebrated.
can one ever outgrow their own birthday
sometimes in the midsts of all the action in ones life
these special days just pass one by
like a tuesday.
they go by not with a bang, but with a whisper...
thats is a cruel fate to endear to at any level...
of course it may seem childish to gratify one's own birth as any kind of special occasion
we might tell ourselves... the world is too big and moves to fast to care of any such date as this...
but we have yet to realize that without birthdays without celebration
how can we celebrate life? how can we celebrate growth?
another 365 days IS a big deal and thus should be treated that way;
the impact on one's life may be affected by a decision to care
or not care about one's birthday
may it be remorse,
saddness,
or simply lack of interest in one's own special day
birthdays fly by...
and before we know it, we're on our last birthdays
and we find that looking back
we really can't claim any of those past days lost...
you can never outgrow your birthday...
those who try to, are lost in themselves and to the world...
like me...
