i have two blisters =P

yesterday inadvertantly i burned my fingers by touching a hot test tube during lab...
clumsy clumsy meeh...

if i were to write down the whole story, it would be, idiot, idiot meeh...

hmm...i have free time right now, let's show how dumb i am:.

Okay here i am in Microbio class, i had just finished all my lab work quite early, and i was itching to get home to try and get some studying done:.

I had put away all my stuff but realized i made a mistake and put two of my testtubes in the wrong place,
anywho it was my last task of the day to transfer my testtubes to another tray and i was in quite a jolly mood...
so with two test tubes on my hand, i started to skip my way to the tray...

let me first say that the caps on those testtubes aren't exactly air tight...

so lo an behold all my moving caused the liquid (filled with millions of microorganisms) to spill out of the tubes, onto my hand, and onto the floor...

stupid stupid meeh...i should have know better...

anyway no harm no foul, just a little spillage:.
i went to get some amphy - the disinfectant spray we used in class and i sprayed the floor and the test tubes, even my hand...

i left the amphyl on the floor to wipe it up after i put my test tubes away...

while near the tray i decided i didn't want to take any chances about the microogranisms i spilled and decided to sterilize the top of my test tube broths w/ a bunsen burner...
i asked a classmate of mine if i could use hers and she said sure...

i flamed the top of the first testtube, capped it and put it away
no sweat

then, while flaming the second testtube i realized that the label i put on it was falling off...
so i went to fix the label

grabbed the top of the tube (the top i had juss imersed in fire) and in a few seconds
the tube flew out of my hand
crashed on the poor girls desk
and i was left with two burned fingers from the hot edge of the test tube...

(the funny part is that the teacher was next to me and he said, "i thought that tube would be hott")

i quickly apologized profusely to the girl that i almost spilled bacteria on
and went to clean up the tube...and throw away the broken glass...

sigh...

I SWEAR I WAS GOING TO LEAVE THE CLASS SATISFIED THAT I DIDNT BREAK ANYTHING, SET ANYTHING ON FIRE, OR CONTAMINATE THE LAB...

oh well maybe next week =P
